Rita A. Farina, age 93, of Las Vegas, died on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Las Vegas . She was born on November 17th, 1929 in Bronx, New York, the youngest of 5. Prior to moving to Las Vegas she also lived in Warrington, Pennsylvania.
Her true joys in life were her grandchildren. She enjoyed the fresh air, listening to music, and traveling the world through her many exciting cruises. Her favorite; Disney world, Hawaii, and Italy. She thoroughly enjoyed going to the casino, and her many Sunday shopping excursions with her granddaughter and great-grandchild.
Mrs. Farina had a flair for style and always had fun matching her attire with her favorite accessories.
She cherished spending time with her family, her best long life friend Connie, and, most recently her trusted friend Mary. In her early years, Sundays was spent cooking family dinners with "great Italian food."
Mrs. Farina was a numbers person, investing in the stock market and balancing the family accounts alongside her husband, Larry. Both dedicated their entire lives to supporting their family.
Many loved her keen sense of humor and wit; making it easy to voice her opinion with the utmost of honesty.
She worked in computer programming early on and then later transitioned to being a telephone operator for the Verizon company for more than 15 years, retiring in the late 1990's.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; brothers: Dominic and Buster, and sister: Ida. Survivors include her children: Joseph Farina and Janet Ditroia; grandchildren: Tony (Kristin) Farina, Nicole (Phil) Hartmann, Jonathon (Jennifer) Ditroia and Jason Ditroia; great grandchildren: Jack, Emilia, Archer and Rosie; and sister: Rose.
