(STEVEN) RICK TEMPLETON: Rick Templeton, 61, of Las Vegas, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. He was born January 6, 1959 in Pocatello, Idaho to Hugh and JoAnn ( Reynolds) Templeton. The family later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he graduated from Western High School Class of 1977. He graduated from the Phoenix Institute of Technology in Arizona year 1979. Shortly after he returned to Las Vegas, Nevada where he married the love of his life Linda Richerson his wife of 40 years, on August 23, 1980. After working in the Field of Architecture for 15 years he built a successful General Contracting Company that he owned and operated with integrity for more than 25 years.
Rick has a reputation that is respected and trusted among his peers, employees, associates and clients. He went above and beyond to treat everyone with respect and treated them like a valued friend. One of his biggest joys was to have the opportunity of working with and mentoring his daughter Crystal and his son Cody.
Rick had an adventurous spirit and lived life to his fullest. Some of his passions were sports playing baseball, soccer, Raquel ball, football, tennis, and he achieved getting a Black Belt in Karate. Rick also enjoys flying his private aircraft across the USA and is a Licensed Pilot. He also liked scuba diving, snow skiing, water skiing,hunting, fishing, power boating and his newest passion of Sailing, to name a few. Other passions were traveling abroad with his wife Linda and family to Peru, China, Greece, , Ireland, Mexico, and explore several tropical destinations where he could enjoy the ocean. Rick was a skilled craftsman building his dream home and many of its interior furnishings. He loved wood-working especially creating segmented bowls with intricate details in which he won several awards in local Art Shows and Fairs.
His best accomplishment that he took the most pride in was that as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather (Papa), being a loving and supportive family man and friend. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Joann Templeton and Bother-in-law Christopher Barry.. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Templeton and their children Crystal Sowa and son Cody Templeton , son- in -law Justin Sowa and daughter-in-law Danielle Templeton. Two grandchildren Lilliana and Liam , his brothers Ken and Doug and sister Tamara Vellinga. Brother-in Laws Chad Vellinga, Ron Richerson, sister-in-laws Carol Richerson, Nancy Barry, Susan Tracy, and Tatyana Caruso. Along with more than 20 nieces and nephews he cherished spending time with.
His dedication and knowledge, support, advice, sense of humor and love for life and laughter will be greatly missed by his family, friends and work associates. Private Services were previously held at Palm Mortuary Northwest in Las Vegas.
