Rick Clemons, born September 15, 1948 in Elmira, New York. If you ever asked Rick where was he from, the answer was always “I lived in 50 states and 25 countries”; as a child to the military father, he had been to many countries in the 50’s & 60’s, where some places the people had never seen “white” blond hair kid before. Rick enlisted in the army at age 17 upon graduating high school in Oklahoma, on his 18th birthday he landed in Vietnam the first time, he served in a small unit that stationed in the remote outpost. He never talked about the details of his 3 years experiences in Vietnam with anyone, it was gruesome, and the nightmare and flash backs were constant. Rick was always proud of the fact that he sees the mega trend, in the early 70’s he saw the changes in technology, while still in the military he enrolled in the Data General technical school, which became 40 years of computer technology career; he had developed computer systems in countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia & Belgium (NATO); back in the states, it also led him to places like Washington DC working below the white house, and Hollywood movie studio. In 1990, Rick started working for Itel Distribution Systems in San Francisco, he fell in love with the 3rd party logistics business model, and truly enjoy the challenges of developing system solutions for it; after Itel was sold in 1992, he decided to develop the best software system for that business model on his own; it took him 6 months to complete the beta version, where sometimes he would not even go to bed for days, only sleeping at his desk for a couple hours at a time. Rick was the true definition of “tenacity”, no matter what obstacles, he did not give up. In 2009 Rick retired from the computer business, he became actively involved in assisting conservative candidate in campaigns, he would do whatever he could for the cause he believed in. One of his best talent was his writing skill, he started publishing under the name “Darwin Rockantansky”, later became a blogger under “Doc Roc”, which had a huge following. Rick was a patriot and a warrior, always proud to be an American, he believed in doing his part in keeping this country safe and strong, and set out to do it every day until the end.
