Richard (Dick) Hallman 85 of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away at his home on December 26, 2014. He was born on November 27, 1929 in Aurora, IL the only child and son of Watson and Edith Hallman. He graduated from West Aurora High School in 1947, and went on to attend Beloit College, in Wisconsin, a lifetime member of Sigma Chi who played on the football team and graduating in 1951 with a degree in Business Management. He served in the United States Army, and became a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant after serving three years in the Army. Upon returning from the service, Dick married his beloved, Ruth Johnston whom he had known since the first grade. Dick worked for Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company and later in his career for Coors Brewing Company until his retirement in 1993. He retired to Sun City, Summerlin, Las Vegas where he served in his church, Mountain View Presbyterian for 20 years in the capacity of Elder, Deacon and Stephen Minister. He was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed sports of all kinds, playing the piano, golf, and chess. As a devoted family man, nothing made him happier than being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sharing their milestones and accomplishments. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Johnston Hallman, his two daughters, Susan Rose and Nancy Pero, his grandchildren Amanda Holmes, Joshua Rose, Dayna Ross, Christopher Pero and Michael Pero and his great grandchildren Olivia Holmes, Enishi Rose, Caitlin Holmes and Lennon Hufford. Graveside services will be at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL on February 14 2015 at 10am. A Memorial service will be held at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Summerlin, Las Vegas on February 17 2015 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora, IL or to Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Summerlin, Las Vegas, NV.
