

He was born on June 30, 1942, in Castel San Vincenzo, Italy to Giovanni and Yolanda Di Silvestro.
He was married to his beloved wife, Rita Di Silvestro for 48 years.
Renato went to school in Ville De Saint-Denis, France. He immigrated to the United States in 1960 at the age of 18. He served in the United States Army. He then joined the Chicago Police Department where he worked for 25 years. He moved to Las Vegas in 1992 where he enjoyed playing poker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rita; his sons, Michael (Paula) of Crown Point, Indiana and Steven (Jenny) of Norridge, Illinois; his daughter, Michelle (Tony) of Las Vegas; his stepsons, Dominick (Gia) and Peter (Veronica) of Addison, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Marco, Alessia, Bella, Luca, Rocco, Starr, Gianni, Giuliana, Ria, Peter, and Frankie. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert and Serge and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved son, John.
Renato was diagnosed with a rare disease called Inclusion Body Myopathy caused by the valosin containing protein (VCP) gene. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to www.curevcp.org.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on April 25, 2025 at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, in Las Vegas.
A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on May 9, 2025 at Mary Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church at 920 Granville Ave. Park Ridge, IL. A funeral mass will be held on at 10:30 a.m. on May 9, 2025 at Mary Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church.
A private ceremony will be held at his final resting place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
