Remo "Duke" Bedotto Jr., M.D., 80, died peacefully at home July 14, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his beloved wife, of 56 years, Esther Bedotto; his four children, John Bedotto (Sally), of Las Vegas, Greg Bedotto of Las Vegas, Lisa Bedotto Laughlin (Colby) of Reno, and Leslie Rocha (James) of Danville, Calif.; and six grandchildren. Born and raised in Allentown, Pa., Dr. Bedotto graduated from Allentown High School and Muhlenberg College. He earned his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After an internship at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, Dr. Bedotto joined the U. S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. A 50-year resident of Las Vegas, Dr. Bedotto practiced medicine in North Las Vegas. He was chief of staff at North Las Vegas Hospital, and was a 50-year member of the Clark County Medical Society. Dr. Bedotto was a member of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Catholic Church and Spanish Trail Country Club. He was passionate about five things: his wife and family, his friends, his patients, golf and a good joke. He was a tremendous role model, quietly teaching loved ones to live lives of love, honor and humility, while demonstrating the importance of a strong work ethic. He is now on the best journey of his life, where there will be only two putts and a cold martini at the end of each round. Funeral Mass will be at 4 p.m., Friday, July 27, at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Church, 7260 W.
