Ramona Michele Davis, 60, an 11-year resident of Las Vegas, passed away on April 15, 2020 at University Medical Center (UMC) after experiencing acute kidney disease. Through the grace of God, her faith, and her mother and sisters, Ramona was a survivor and thriver of a double-lung transplant in 2013.
Ramona was born June 24, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Dolores Davis. She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Wayne State University in 1985. She continued her education at Walsh College, from which she received her Master of Science in Finance.
Ramona began her employment as a mail carrier. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Hospital Reimbursement Analyst and at CoAmerica as an Auditor. She was a proud member of Word of Faith International Christian Center in Detroit, Michigan and Word of Life Christian Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ramona was a devout Christian who served as the Prayer Warrior for the family. She daily read and shared her Divine Health Confession with anyone she could. She was affectionately nicknamed "Cookie". She loved family gatherings, food, and laughter. She traveled with her sisters annually for the past 30 years, and she especially loved Paris. Her favorite color was royal blue and her "world-famous" fried chicken from Albertsons was always appreciated at family gatherings. Her favorite song was "The Spirit of David" by Fred Hammond and her signature phrases were "I am blessed and highly favored" and "All is well."
Ramona was preceded in death by her father John Alexander Davis.
She is survived by her mother Dolores Davis; her nine siblings Earlene, Diane, JoAnne, John, Marlon, Marilyn, Sheryl, Eric, and Kevin; her nephews and nieces to whom she was like a mother, Renee, Gregory, Eddie, Henry, Jr., Shelise, Michael, Aaron, Antoinette, Charmese, Latrice, Courtney, Syrita, John, Mohamed, Eric Pierre, Arkael, Delon, Angelina, Ashley, John, Audrey, Alex, Khalilah, Jordan, Donovan, Chandler, and Vincent; her great-nieces and nephews Andrea, Devaun, Gregory III, Elijah, Morgan, Anylah, Julian, Zachariah; her great-great niece Isabella; her best friend and sister, Karen Hoskin; and goddaughter, Jillian Govan.
All of them brought her much joy.
