Peter dedicated his life to his family and community. Until his passing, he was the Chapter President of the Las Vegas Akwa Ibom State Association (AKISAN), a chapter he activated. He was also a founding member and Head of Community Outreach for the African Diaspora of Las Vegas, and a former President of the Nigerian Association of Las Vegas. Additionally, Peter was the architect for the Akwa Ibom House in DC, which he presented at the 2013 National Convention.
Peter Umoh, PMP, MBA, LEED, GA, was a Clark County Design and Construction Administrator/Project Manager in the Department of Real Property Management Design and Construction division for 15 years. In that time, he completed over 75 projects that brought joy to thousands. He managed the design and construction of Hollywood Park Aquatic Center, Mountains Edge Park (phase 1), Desert Diamonds Baseball Field Complex, and many other public parks. Additionally, he completed many substation projects for Metro PD.
Peter had the generosity and kindness of an entire tribe. During his final days in the hospital, he facilitated much-needed food relief for his village Mbioto II during this pandemic. He was known throughout America and Nigeria as a man of wisdom, strength, and generosity. Anyone who knew him would tell you he had a unifying spirit that empowered people to come together in recognition of our shared humanity, rather than to focus on the differences that separate us.
Peter Umoh is survived by his children: Enobong, Ema-Abasi, Edidiong Umoh and Patricia Psomas.
A visitation will be held from 4:30 – 8:30pm (PDT) on September 4, 2020 followed by a funeral service at 8:30 at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
