Peter and Liz are two of the many really special people I fondly remember from my years in New York City and Pittsburgh.
I was a career Visual Merchandise person or as Peter preferred " display gypsy", whatever.  I only know Peter's talent and can do attitude made any of us in the profession look a whole lot better.  This was a time before the internet and all that magic when ideas were expressed over the phone and Peter always " got it" added his touch and delivered an inspired product, tasteful, right on and on budget.
What a guy, what a friend.
No doubt the Pearly Gates will be decked out this year as never before.

Memories are a way of holding into the ones we love

My memories of my uncle Peter go back as far as i can remember. 

That’s probably because Uncle Peter was in my life from the time i was born. 

Being part of a big crazy Italian family growing up, every holiday we were always all together. 

My best special childhood memories are of the days when my dad took me and my brother David to Aunt Liz and Uncle Peter’s house. 

Everyone knows my uncle was a designer and decorated store windows, but for me all I knew was the excitement of going to My Uncle Peters house. 
The excitement of the holidays was like going to the actually Santa’s workshop at the North Pole. 
As a little girl all my eyes saw was the magical lights, decorations and presents. 
Me and my brothers favorite memory was of a giant beautiful gingerbread house decorated with icing and candy galore. 

When I had my own children, Corey & Matthew of course we continued to bring them to Uncle Peters house.  All grown up now, seeing the holidays through the eyes of my children made my love for my uncle Peter grow even more. 

Continuing the excitement and family tradition for my children with their cousins, Rebecca, Camryn and Fiona gave me new appreciation of how much he loved us. Uncle Peter even put on the Santa suit, as the kids ran around looking for the sleigh and reindeers. It truly was special and I will never forget how much of my uncles loving heart went into his family. 

We are here to celebrate Uncle Peter.

My memories are all love and of a very special time that I always hold close to my heart. 

It's been what feels like a lifetime since I've seen and spent time with the people that I connect my childhood to , my Aunt Liz and Uncle Pete, Peter and Debbie....I have so many memories that I hold so dear spending holidays, birthdays, New Year's Chinese food, my Mom's roladen dinners with them...but my admiration  for my aunt and uncle's love and patience for each other always made me feel happy when I was with them.  Uncle Pete's sense of humor was just enhanced by Aunt Liz's responses to him.  I have laughed and cried as I thought of my memories of Uncle Pete.  I just LOVED watching him dance with Aunt Liz, gliding around each other with an ease and love that warmed my heart, even as a little girl.  Uncle Pete was supportive and caring towards me in my life, throughout some hard times, always showing a realness that was comforting.  I think of so many conversations that I listened to at our family get-togethers that just lead to laughter because of the antics between everyone and because of the honesty that the family showed, through the good and bad.  My heart will forever remember him and my wish for him is that he is sitting at a table with all of our loved ones who have gone before, sharing jokes catching up and helping to comfort all the aching hearts that miss them.   Sending support and love to my Vegas family, Peter and your family and Jay and please know that our thoughts and spirits are with you and wish you peace in your hearts as you go on.  

I have known Peter Randazzo  since I was 8 yrs old.  Peter was 18 then. We're exactly 10 yrs apart, less two days. Peter started his first job out of design school at my father's Display Company, Chic Display in NYC. Peter ultimately became the head designer of the art department & was in charge of the design studio. In its heyday, Peter was in charge of designing & executing  seasonal floral & Christmas trims for major department stores in NYC & other parts of the country.  In NYC, Peter designed major Christmas trims for Macy's Herald Square, Alexanders, Gimbel's,  Bergdorf Goodman &  some specialty shops in Bloomingdale's.
There were times when Peter's expertise was called upon to help the display departments install their trim as well.  During the height of the busy season, there would be as many as at least 25 people under Peter's direction. Not an easy feat when you consider part of the studio was blasting loud soul music, another part loud salsa music & yet another listening to rock.  Everyone got along & did their job, as they all loved Peter. He was so easy to be around, so much fun & yet at the same time made sure every job was going along as scheduled & most importantly looked the way it was supposed to.  He was as talented as much as a joy to be around.  Peter later introduced me to, (at the time) NYC's best hamburger,  at Jackson Hole Wyoming on East 64th St.  You needed two hands to eat these hamburgers, along with delicious pickles & just about anything you wanted with your burger...let's not forget the giant french fries.  We made it a habit of going a couple of times a month after work during the busy Christmas season.
Some years later Peter went on to work for a couple of other Display companies but we always remained in touch. Throughout the years we knew so many people in common.  We shared stories about work and our families, and would always laugh.  There will always be a special place in my heart for Peter.   

I first knew  Peter at Robelan. We bonded over floral arrangements, Peter was my soul brother. Why this was true I don’t really know but it was. For some reason he & I blended together in our love of life, family & each other. I’ll miss him until we see each other again. Beth & I will never forget the memories of Peter.
