Paula Lee Courtney, 62, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, after a brave 18-year battle with cancer. She was born July 7, 1947, in Glendale, Calif., was raised in California and moved to Las Vegas in 1990. Paula worked as a retail clerk for Albertson's (formerly Lucky's) for several years. She was happily married for 39 years to Al Courtney; and was an excellent mother and the world's greatest nana and grandma. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Shirley Ruddock. She is survived by her husband, Al; son, Conrad; daughter, Roxanne; son-in-law, Jamie; six grandchildren, Zach, Nicholas, Sabrina, Abby, Courtney and Shelbie; and two brothers, Rick and Rob Ruddock. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name. Paula was a great wife, mother and friend who always had a huge smile for you and would do anything for those she cared about! She will be truly missed.
