Patrick William Flaherty, Jr., age 85, of Las Vegas, went to his eternal reward on June 13, 2014 in Las Vegas, after fighting a 10 year battle with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Pat was born to Patrick and Marie Flaherty on March 30, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School and served in the US Army during the Korean war. He was employed for 35 years as a Plant Manager (lithographer) for Stevenson Photo Color until relocating to Las Vegas in 1981, continuing his vocation locally. Pat was a 33 year member of Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church. He enjoyed his Saturday mornings playing KENO with his buddies at the Gold Coast. He was affectionately known as "Cowboy," always wearing his 10 gallon hat and high-heeled boots. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Council as well as Archbishop Moeller Council in Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence and stepmother Henrietta. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, June (nee Gutman), children Richard (Linda) Flaherty, Angela (Tim) Fisher and David Flaherty, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral mass will be 10:30am Tuesday, June 24, 2014, Pat and June's 64th wedding anniversary at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Dr. Las Vegas, where family will receive friends one hour prior to mass. Ennichment will take place at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada. Arrangements in care of Palm Mortuary, South Jones Chapel.
