Patricia Kay Frye

Patricia was born on January 12, 1952, in Marshall, MI, to Leonard Eric Sheldon and Gwendolyn Sheldon, and was the oldest of thirteen children.

Patricia married Rodney Frye and together they had four children, Eric, Tricia, Bryan, and Kris.

Patricia attended Spring Arbor College and graduated in 1987 with a degree in Nursing. She dedicated her life to helping others, starting her career in the neonatal intensive care unit at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. In 2004, she moved to Las Vegas, where she continued her nursing career at Sunrise Hospital, ending as the lead in her department. Throughout her tenure as a NICU nurse, she earned multiple awards and touched the lives of many, including the thousands of babies she took care of in the NICU. Patricia loved teaching new nurses entering the field, and her passion for nursing was evident in everything she did.

In 2021, Patricia retired from nursing after 34 years of service. She spent her time reading, visiting friends, and spending time with her family and grandchildren, who brought her the greatest joy. She was an adventurous traveler, visiting places like Alaska, Yellowstone, Cedar Point, Mackinac Island, camping/RVing across the U.S., and exploring countries like Israel and India with her church. Patricia was a devoted Christian, and her faith played a central role in her life. She was a member of The Crossing Church and was actively involved in the community, offering her time, energy, and resources to support its mission and those in need.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest brother. She is survived by her three sons, daughter, and eighteen grandchildren.

A memorial service for Patricia will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129.

Patricia's kindness, compassion, and selflessness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
