Pamela “Pam” Suzanne Pate was born November 20, 1972, in Warren, Michigan and her soul found peace, August 8, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada with her loving family and close friends surrounding her. Pam, a brave, strong warrior, battled metastatic breast cancer for the past 5 years.
Pam lived in San Diego during high school, moved back to Michigan, lived briefly in Florida, and then moved to Las Vegas in 1997. While raising her two small children, she graduated at the top of her Civil Engineering class earning her bachelor's degree in Engineering from UNLV in 2003. In Las Vegas, Pam had a successful engineering career working a variety of different jobs in the city including GC Wallace and Clark County Water Reclamation District.
While working at GC Wallace, she met and married Johnnie Pate on November 23, 2007. Together they raised a blended family of 7 and then had a daughter together, Teagan, completing their “Vegas Bunch” of 8. Pam and Johnnie created the most relevant, humorous holiday cards that cleverly incorporated all the antics that the “Vegas Bunch” had gotten into the year prior.
Pam loved her kids, step kids and grandkids with great verve. If there was a child around, they just gravitated toward Pam’s kindness, positivity, joy, and admiration of all things Disney. Her enormous, fabulous Disney pin collection would make any Disney fan jealous.
Pam was smart as a whip and loved to have a good time being around her family and friends. Even though she was an introvert, most people would have never guessed it --she did love a house full of people at parties. She was full of warmth and her laughter was beautiful, irresistible and comforting.
Besides being with family and friends, Pam’s other passions were rooting on the Golden Knights hockey team, where her family are season ticket holders, celebrating holidays with the family and adopting and caring for dogs (some crazier than others). Throughout her life, Pam loved playing indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and running with family members. To her kids, she was the world’s best chef, known for her homemade fettucine alfredo and Guamanian chicken. Her love for the great outdoors included camping, hiking, and going to the beach and don’t forget the numerous family Disneyland trips.
Pam is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Johnnie Pate; children, Matthew “Matt” Sablan and wife, Jenna, Shelby Tambakis and husband Brett, McKenna Pate, Alyson Sablan, Noah Pate and wife, Kayleigh, Cade Pate, Meg Pate, and Teagan Pate; precious granddaughters Emma and Maddie; her parents Barbara Christine and Dale Marino; sister, Anna Marie MaGuire; brother, Gregory Marino and wife, Jennifer and host of beloved family and friends.
Friends, co-workers and family are welcomed to a Celebration of Life in Pam’s honor held on Friday, August 26th from 4-8pm at the home of Anita and Tim McCoy. 6220 Skyline Summit Circle, Las Vegas, NV 89149
