OLGA DUNNE WENT TO HER HEAVENLY HOME ON 1/10/16. SHE WAS BORN ON APRIL 25TH, 1925 IN Kosow, Poland to Kurulo Ferkaluk and Anna Protsuk. She was caught up in the World War II Tragedy and was taken as a prisoner of war to work on a farm at age 16. When the war was over she lived in Germany where she met and married Peter Edward Dunne I on December 2nd, 1946. SHE traveled with her husband who was in the Airforce and settled in Roswell, NM where they raised their 3 sons. Her husband retired from the Roswell Airforce Base in 1961. Olga was widowed on June 11, 1976. She is preceded in death by her husband, eldest son -Peter Edward Dunne II, 2 sisters, Zena Markulin and Mrs. Pauline Bakhtin, brother-n-law Vassul Bakhtin and a brother Wasul Ferkaluk. Olga is survived by her two sons and their families: Michael and Michelle Dunne of North Las Vegas, NV and Johnny and Patricia Dunne of Las Cruces, NM and Daugher-n-law, Mary Dunne of Oregon. In addition, she has multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Dominic and Dianah Janaway and Family of New River, AZ; David Dunne of New River, AZ, Pete and Kim Dunne of Ft. Collins, CO; Mark and Cierra Boyd and Family of Desoto, TX; Sonny and Mikah Sefton and Family of Albuquerque, NM; Brianne Revell, Rebecca Dunne & Alexis Dunne of North Las Vegas, NV; Joshua Dunne and Family of Las Cruces, NM; Jonah Dunne and Family of Las Cruces, NM; Audra Dunne and Family of Las Cruces, NM and nephew Vassul and Maria Bahktin of Naples, Florida and grand-niece Christina Bahktin of Miami, Florida. Olga spent her working career as a cook at St. Mary’s Catholic Hospital and Sunset Villa Nursing Home. All of her family has fond memories of her cooking, especially her potato salad. She finished her career working for the Roswell Independent School District Cafeteria serving food to elementary school kids, primarily at Nancy Lopez Elementary. Olga was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church for over 40 years. Her faith was very important to her. Olga was very proud of her US Citizenship which she earned through citizenship classes. She was also proud of her husband and son’s service in the United States Airforce and Army. Olga loved to play slot machines and finished her last 11 years of life visiting almost every casino in the Las Vegas, Nevada, area. She also enjoyed traveling to various states and helping take care of her many grandchildren. Special thanks to her caregivers Jocelyn and Levy who cared for her diligently over the last year and a half. Olga will be remembered as a strong willed, opinionated, feisty lady that was full of spunk. She will be missed. Pall Bearers will be Michael Dunne, Johnny Dunne, Pete Dunne, Dominic Janeway, Jonah Dunne, and Sonny Sefton. Honorary pall bearers are Josh Dunne, David Dunne, Mark Boyd and Kai and Jaden Rogers. In Lieu of Flowers, the family would like contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for Cancer Research. Arrangements are being made by Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. Olga will be available on Friday for viewing. A mass at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory followed by Graveside Service at South Park Cemetery will be held on Saturday, January 16th at 10:00 am.
