Norene Collons Lightbody, 100, passed away October 14, 2014 at As Time Goes By Group Home of Las Vegas, Nevada, where she had resided for several years. During her last year, she had been receiving care for dementia from Nathan Adelson Hospice.
Born July 17, 1914, in Chadron, Nebraska, Norene was a long-time resident of Silver Spring and Edgewater, Maryland. Prior to retiring to Edgewater, she was active in the Hillandale Women's Club.
Norene is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lightbody, daughter Linda Lightbody, and grandson David White. Surviving are her daughter Karen Shaw of Las Vegas, grandson Scott Thompson of Denver, Colorado, grandson John White, and great-granddaughters Alyssa and Madelyn White of Dallas, Texas.
Norene will be interred with Albert in Arlington National Cemetery in mid-2015. Information regarding the graveside service is available from Karen Shaw or Palm Mortuary of Las Vegas.
