U.S. Army, Retired Noah W. Bass, 95, of Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 20, 2012. He was born Feb. 21, 1916, near Elk City, Okla. Noah enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1934, became a commissioned officer in 1943, and retired in 1954, after service in many U.S. and foreign posts, including the South Pacific in World War II. As his second career, Noah owned automotive service and oil distributing businesses in Idaho and Oregon. In 1981, he "retired" to Las Vegas for a third career in carpentry and woodworking, plus traveling around the U.S. in his motor home. In 1943, Noah married Harriet Mason, and together they raised six children, Tresa (David) Moulton of Colorado, John (Rhonda) of Texas, and James (Kim), Bob, and Kathy (Glenn) Sharp of the Las Vegas area. Noah's wife, Harriet; and daughter, Mary (Roy) Olds preceded him in death. Noah had four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 220 N. 14th St., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice.
