My dear little brother,
I miss you so much...and today is the one year of your passing. It has been a day of remembering all of the good times, the laughter, and memories of you're wonderful music. There were tough times, great times, and you were a brave soul. I'm sure you are playing with the angels in heaven...singing, guitar playing and dancing.   All of my girlfriends embrace the good memories of you too...I think of you every day and pray that you are at peace.

I wanted to let you know that I find Peace in hearing your voice in the stars when I sit outside on a clear evening. It is beautiful here in Palm Springs at night, and the quiet time is when I can reflect on the laughter we had.  For some reason the last entry on the photo had typo's - which you would appreciate.. I am sure.  So I am resending it...you were teaching me how to take a "selfie"...in Las Vegas on your birthday.  You and mom leaving at the same time has left such a big void in my life. Miss you both so much....so it feels good to write to you...my little brother.

Hi Babe: Been thinking of you through out the holidays.  Tom & Mel /Boys were here, so you know we had a good time. Vegas is the same place as when u left us. I miss you so much and always will. I would give anything to hear your voice. It's so cold at night,but 70's during the day. Your kids are fine as far as I can tell on FB. I talk to Cindy 1 or 2 times a month. I may go to PS in April to see her. I love U Mikel and think of you so often,reminiscing about the fun things we did. All the good!  I love you and will miss you always. Judy

My Mikel:  I went to AZ. and saw Roylyn, Chrystal & kids.  We had lots of fun. Went to a Ice hocky tourn. for Tyler. the team is great. I miss you so much and talking to Chrys. and Roy. about you brought back so many mem. when we were in Alaska. I think of you all the time. I miss hearing your voice so much and getting yours hugs. I will always miss you Babe and love you forever. Your grandbabies are adorable!! Please pray for me and try to ease my pain. You should not have left here so soon. Today is September 17th and I  wanted to let you know that it seems like yesterday we all came together for your memorial and mom's.  It was a beautiful day in Texas on May 17th - just a few months ago, but there wasn't anyone there to play music, just the memories and your guitars. There is really a big void in my life with you being gone.  I have to think you are at peace... We talked almost every day.  I will always have you in my heart, your smile, your voice, your music, your little brother ways, and all that we shared...  I am so grateful that we had such a wonderful visit on your birthday in 2012.  Thank you for letting me record your song when I was there...and pass it on to all that love you. What a treasure.  Didn't we have fun on that visit!   I miss you so much.  I hope you and mom are singing some songs together and looking over all of us..we need it...love you....Cindy

Uncle Mikel,
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of how many good times we had laughing together. No matter how dark the days were for us at times, we brought our own sunshine wherever we went.  Your smile and lively spirit lit up any room and you just shined always. I listen to your music everyday and reflect on the many times you sang my favorite songs with me. I cherish the good times and the sweet memories made with you. You never ever allowed me for one minute to think I was any thing less than the best. You left this life on earth too early. I miss the snot out of you. However, we will meet again and I look forward to one of those sweet big bear hugs. I love you and my thoughts are always with you. Til we meet again.

Dear Mikel; Congratulations you have your 3rd. granddaughter!  She is so pretty and Melissa did fine. Her name is Mikalea?. She is a big baby. I also talked to Holly. Her little girl is really cute. I am so sorry you were not able to get to Texas to see all 4 kids and Babies. They all miss you a lot. I do to. I sure have my days thinking of you all the time.I Love and miss you so much. Dear Mikel: It's been two months since you left us for a better place.  I miss you so much. I'm sure missing your phone calls and your warm hugs! I went to CO. for 3 weeks and stayed at Teri's. The apple tree you planted in the front yard of my house has really grown.  I miss that house. I love you Babe and Pray for you all the time. Me

My little brother had a sweet and vulnerable heart. Mikel was passionate and compassionate.  We talked almost every day...good times and bad or troubled times.  His music was his reality rather than the demands of being practical, but he had worked hard with the VA and accomplished so much to make changes and had plans for a new beginning.  He was looking forward to spending time with his children, grandchildren and helping mom. I am so grateful for the time we had together to love and learn from each other.  He new how to love, laugh and march to his own drummer...a father, son, brother, great dancer, musician, composer, poet.....I will miss his music, our arguments, phone calls, and our philosophical discussions, he was a wise old soul, but always a teenager at heart.  In peace, love and always a special place in my heart.  Cindy
