Michael “Mike” James Sailer, age 62 passed away July 04, 2014 in Las Vegas Nevada from Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Mike was born, August 21, 1951 to John “Jack” James and Tressie M. Sailer in Downey California. He resided in Norwalk California during his youth. On January 1, 1973 he married the love of his life, Joyce Howard. They were married for 41 years. Mike was a semi truck driver for 39 years. Mike and Joyce left LaPuente California in the year 2006 to make a new home in Las Vegas Nevada. Mike worked for Tru Line Trucking and delivered loads all over the west coast. He met a lot of good people in the truck driving business. As a child Mike enjoyed working with his dad. They raised pigeons’ and his dad taught him how to work on cars. His best friend Gary Garrison got into mischief as all young boys do but in later years they loved to challenge each other in a poker game. In fact Mike loved to get together with family and friends and play cards. Mike was a simple man who did not need much to make him happy. Sitting in front of the television watching John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, NCIS and eating a mayonnaise and strawberry jelly sandwich with his dogs Garrison and Honey at his feet was a typical day when not driving truck’s. His niece Tressie L., and her children Lyna, Matthew and Jesse would often visit, and “Unc” as they called him, enjoyed their company. On Saturday morning you would find Mike sitting at the Village Pub in Desert Shores at 5:30 a.m. with a plate of steak and eggs in front of him and playing 4 card Keno. He was preceded in death by his father John “Jack” James Sailer. He is survived by his wife Joyce Sailer, mother Tressie M. Sailer, Sisters Bridget Smith, Katie Farrias, Maureen Aranda (David), niece Tressie L. Ibarra (Rudy) and their children Lyna, Mathew, and Jesse, and many other family members and friends. Mike your love of your wife and family will carry on forever. You will be missed! A Quiet Man A mans man he was known to be Not much interested in frivolity Enjoying life with his lovely wife Working together without strife Never denying her many wishes Even when it came to washing dishes What she wanted to do He would gladly agree to Whether playing games of chance Or watching a show about romance As a loving partner she would know Her wishes were his to control Also, there was one wish he could not attain Her wish for him to be without pain We know now that Mike is pain free Up in Heaven, healthy as can be Thank you God, for taking away his pain Rest in peace Michael We will miss you By: Bettie Latshaw
