Michael was born in Los Angeles, California, September 30, 1944. He attended Simi Valley High School in Simi California, after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly for five years. Michael moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in the late 1960’s. While in Las Vegas he had the opportunity to work with his father, Sard, and his older brother Bill for Acme Electric, he worked for Acme for nearly 55 years. In 1983, Michael met Mary Polci and her two children, Renee and Gary, and together they created a beautiful life for themselves for the past forty years.
Michael was known for his passion for building, and building for others with no expectations. Nothing made Michael more happy than his ability to put smiles on other’s faces with his hard work. He was also proud of his native American Indian heritage, the Choctaw Tribe. He was an eternal optimist at heart, his extreme optimism was never more apparent than when he survived lung cancer in his early 60’s, he battled it the way he lived his life, with the thought in mind, “Nothin to it, but to do it”, he never complained about the challenges that came with cancer, was always found smiling, and one could hear him whistling his favorite tune during his treatment.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Sard (Father) and Florence (Mother); his siblings, Gary, Judi, and William, Casey Pantehis (niece); David Michael Kelly(nephew), Rosalie Kelly(Sister-in-Law) He is survived by his wife,Mary Kelly, her daughter and son, Renee Ruggeroli and Gary Polci; Sister Lari Davis, and her two daughters, Carla Richards and Cristal Bright; Niece Rhonda Lynn Kelly; Grandchildren: Gianna, Brock, and Trey Ruggeroli (Renee Ruggeroli): NayNay Polci(Gary Polci):and several other extended family members.
On Saturday February 18th, a Rosary will begin at 12:00 p.m., the Eulogy will follow at 12:30 p.m., with mass beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be a celebration of Life immediately following the mass, his family will be present and welcomed loved ones.
