“Talk to me Goose”. Michael Shannon Federwitz died unexpectedly on March 22, 2025. Mike was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 6, 1979. He lived more in 46 years than most will in a century. He is survived by the love of his life, Tiffany, their incredible children, Tyler and Elizabeth, his parents, Ted and Jane, and sister, Megan. Mike was a proud UNLV graduate and lifelong Rebel fan. “If I make this, Rebels make the tournament!” While the shot may not have always gone in, his wit, humor, and spirit never missed. Mike built a legacy with Key Realty School and helped his family run the Key family of companies. Without him, we all feel like we’ve lost that loving feeling.
Mike was the life of the party and a unique individual in the best possible way. Mike made fast friends everywhere he went and loved to make sure every moment was special. Mike’s mission was to make sure everyone was happy, taken care of, and having a blast! He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by so many. Mike loved to take everything to another level and was always planning the next adventure. Without him we all feel like we are in a flat spin, heading out to sea.
To honor Mike, crank up the JBL, dance in the most awkward way, when your waitress asks “how’s it going?” say “today is the best day of my life!”, give someone a genuine compliment from the heart, throw a party, play some games with friends, make someone’s day special, go for a walk, pet all the good boys, tell the barista your name is “Megatron”, dress up for a movie premier, call a friend on your way home from work, always ask for extra sauces, and raise a tequila with tons of limes and salt.
Instead of flowers, consider a donation to Southern Nevada Golden Retriever Foundation or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Kanab, Utah.
We loved flying with you, Maverick. You were the best of us.
