Mike worked hard to not only serve in the military but to also finish his degree at Golden Gate University while working full time and having small children. Mike and his family lived in many countries during his time with the military, finally settling into Shelburne, Vermont after Mike retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He went on to have a long career in education working for the Shelburne, Hinesburg, Vergennes and Colchester school districts in Vermont. In 1997 they decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada where Mike started working for the Clark County School District and then lastly, he served as Director of Operations for the March of Dimes until he had to retire early due to the onset of Alzheimer's. He enjoyed nothing more than hanging with his kids and grandkids. Mike is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Pranom Doran, his son, Michael Doran, his wife Michelle (Dampier) and their two children Paige and Zane, his daughter Jennifer (Doran) Hartwick and her husband Tim Hartwick Jr. and their two young sons, Cameron and Sebastian.
