Heaven has welcomed a beautiful soul.
Mercedes, was a woman whose life was filled with love, purpose, and grace. She touched so many lives with her kind heart and joyful spirit.
She was a loving daughter to her mother, deeply respectful and devoted. She carried the wisdom, strength, and faith passed down to her, and honored her family in every way she lived.
She was a loving mom, whose children meant the world to her. Her love was unconditional—steady, selfless, and filled with quiet strength. She was our safe place, our encourager, our light.
She was a sweet grandma, whose hugs were magic and whose presence made everything feel better. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she gave them the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.
She was a loving partner to Papa Joe, her longtime companion and soulmate. Their love was a beautiful story of loyalty, laughter, and deep connection. She adored him to the very end, and their bond was full of tenderness and understanding.
She had a deep love for her brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and all her relatives. She valued family above all and always found time to make everyone feel seen, loved, and remembered.
She was a very helpful teacher, dedicated to her students and passionate about learning. She didn’t just teach lessons—she changed lives. On weekends and holidays, she opened her home to students with their parents’ permission, offering extra help, comfort, and care. For those in financial need, she shared what she had without hesitation or pride—just pure compassion.
She was also a very good friend to everyone. She listened without judgment, gave without expectation, and stood by others in both joy and hardship.
Always sociable, she brought joy to every gathering, made friends wherever she went, and had a heart that welcomed everyone in.
She loved the simple joys of life—gardening, sewing, and singing with her family. She had a beautiful voice that carried warmth and spirit, especially when singing alongside those she loved.
Her days were filled with faith, laughter, service, and music. And her favorite words, “I miss you like crazy,” now echo in our hearts—because that’s exactly how we feel without her.
Though she is no longer with us, her love continues to bloom in our lives. In every flower she planted, every student she guided, every smile she inspired, and every moment we carry in our hearts—her light lives on.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 12-2pm, with services beginning at 2pm, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, Nevada.
