Melva Irene Aderhold, 96, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away quietly on January 25, 2019.
Irene was born in Maryland on January 7, 1923 to Lee and Nelli Murphy and lived and made Las Vegas her home for over 60 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sons, David Barton and Gary Barton. She is survived by her son, Richard Murphy; daughter-in-law, Gail Barton (David’s wife); eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, all will always cherish her memory. Her friends and family will always remember her smiling face, love of animals, sports, bingo, video poker, and George Strait. Irene’s career as a post woman spanned over 25 years until she retired in 1992. She was passionate about her job and beloved by all her customers. She will be dearly missed.
