Meaghan Kathleen Gately

Meaghan K. Gately, 28, was taken from us unexpectedly March 26, 2013, due to a sudden illness. Meaghan was born and raised in Las Vegas, and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 2002 and the University of Nevada, Reno in 2006 with a degree in business administration. She was employed by Boyd Gaming in the Human Resources Department. Meaghan enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid sports fan. She was extremely creative and at the time of her passing, was looking forward to moving into and decorating her first home. Although her life was short, her smile and good-natured spirit touched everyone she met. She is remembered by her family and friends as a kind, thoughtful and loving soul. Her untimely passing leaves an unfillable void in all of our hearts. "Meaghan, we love you and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand." Meaghan was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Aileen Gately and Charles and Margaret Ramsdell, all of Lynn, Mass. Meaghan is survived by her parents, Kathleen (Ramsdell) and John Gately Jr. of Las Vegas; and her brother, John Gately III, and his wife, Heather, both of Mesquite. Meaghan was also the adored "auntie" of Nathaniel, Alayna and Kaitlyn Gately; and leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be 3-7 Monday, April 1, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, at St. Viator Catholic Community Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial following, at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Because Meaghan was devoted to her faith and the family requests that In lieu of flowers, donations be made in Meaghan's memory to St. Viator Catholic Community Church, 2461 E.
