Dr. Mary Irene Williams, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024. She was born June 30, 1944, to Hylar and Primer Jackson in Hugo, Oklahoma, and was a 51-year resident of Las Vegas. She was Emerita Professor of Business Administration at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada and taught at CSN since 1973 as a Professor of Office Administration and Business Administration.
Dr. Williams served as Director and Associate Dean of Business Administration for 15 years, Dean of Academic Support for two years and Department Chair of Business Administration for four years. She retired in 2009 but continued to teach as an adjunct professor. Dr. Williams is listed in Who’s Who in American Women, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World and also was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Williams is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Carl and Houston Jackson and former husband, Lee Allen Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Monica A. Williams, and sisters Daisy Wheeler and Melline Guest.
