Mary Villafane, 69 of Las Vegas Nevada passed away on September 1st 2018 at the Marquis Plaza Regency Rehab center. Mary was born on December 5th 1948 in Jacoby Hospital. She grew up in the Bronx and later lived in Manhattan and Maryland. Mary has lived in Las Vegas for the past 35 years.
Mary was happiest being surrounded by family, friends, good food and good music, especially Motown music, Mary was an energetic dancer in her Bronx days. She appreciated a good horror movie and enjoyed an occasional trip to Ethel M’s Chocolate for a treat. Mary was a caregiver and family came first. If ever there was a family member in need Mary would do her best to support and help. She shared her home with her Father, Mother and each of her Brothers at one point or another.
There are many past stories and memories of Louis, Bobby and Mary living together in the Bronx and more recent ones with Matthew and Mary in Las Vegas. She enjoyed Sister’s night, a routine get together of playing board games, sharing meals and laughter.
Mary is survived by her daughter Connie Binder; sister’s Delia Matthews, Julie Baerga and Leticia Baerga; brother’s Louis and Matthew Villafane. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Luis Villafane and Andreina Reyes Villafane, her brother Bobby Villafane, Sue Hopkins and Pat Bowley.
A celebration of Mary’s Life will include a visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday September 10th 2018 at Palm Downtown Mortuary, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 P.M. and interment at 3:00 P.M.
