Mary Elizabeth Smith, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013. She was born April 18, 1929, to Beatrice and Frederick Schofield, in Detroit, and was a 37-year resident of Las Vegas. Mary worked as a secretary in Detroit, and in Las Vegas at the Clark County Health District, until she retired in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents; and great granddaughter, Emma Grace Wandel. Mary is survived by her son, Roy (Jackie) Smith; daughter-in-law, Janet Smith; granddaughter, Melissa (Rob) Wandel; and great-grandsons, Robert Charles Wandel V and Christian Roy Wandel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
