Mary Margaret Samuels

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Mary Margaret Ann McDermott Samuels who departed from this world peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 20,2024 in Las Vegas, NV. She was 76 years old.

Born on September 29, 1947 Mary Margaret was the daughter of Edward & Mary Catherine McDermott. She resided in Pitman, NJ with her husband Richard Leroy Samuels and her five children, Ross, Rich, Shelly, Mary Catherine and Eddie before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 1989. She was married to the love of her life and best friend (who she fondly called “Lee”) for over 50 years.

She was a beacon of love, strength and compassion to all who knew her. She touched the lives of many with her warmth & unwavering dedication to her family and community. Beyond her role as a mother, she had great passion for children’s education, and so she took great pride and joy in becoming an elementary school substitute teacher for the Las Vegas community for several years.

Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, she was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her acts of kindness and compassion left an indelible mark on the lives of countless people.

Her love of her family was unwavering and unconditional. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
