Mary Lynne Dillon

Mary Dillon, 76, a dedicated resident of Las Vegas, passed away in the peaceful comfort of her home on October 13th, 2022, at 2:22 pm. She was born on August 17, 1946, in Indiana and grew up in Wisconsin.

Mary served as an Army Nurse in Vietnam, operating the 67th evac hospital in QuiNhon by the sea. Later in life, she volunteered countless hours in service of her fellow veterans through multiple Veterans associations. She had a successful 45 year nursing career, including working in pediatrics, the OR, the ER, and managing 36 operating rooms at Sunrise Hospital. She created several nursing training programs and improved the internal systems of every facility she worked for. Mary was a life-long learner and loved natural health; she became a Certified Holistic Iridologist, a Therapeutic Nutritional Counselor, a Surya L4 Practitioner at the School for Enlightenment and Healing, an Aromatherapist, and so forth. She was a true pioneer of integrative healthcare.

Mary founded her neighborhood’s first neighborhood watch program, and played an extremely active role in her community, making more friends along the way than any of us can keep track of. Mary is survived by her sister, Lana Carter, and a big adopted family, including Karen, Amy, Ariella, Nick, Lilly, Rose, Roger, Eric, Julia, Jenna, Emily, great-grandchildren and "the kiddos". She felt like family to many more.

Mary was known for being out-spoken, incredibly caring, detail-oriented, organized, kind, and quick-witted. She will be sorely missed.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm, October 24th, 2022, at the Palm South Jones Mortuary, followed by a continued celebration at her home.
