Marvin Louis Chapman, 52, a service technician for Findlay Volkswagen, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 14, 2013. He was born March 14, 1961, in Santa Barbara, Calif., and was a 45-year resident of Nevada. He grew up racing motocross, he loved football and baseball, and his favorite teams were the L.A. Dodgers and the San Francisco 49ers. He married Shelly Ortega and had two children, son, Daniel Chapman, and daughter, Shannon Chapman. He loved watching his son play football and watching his daughter play softball. He was an amazing husband and father. Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Leon Louis Chapman. He is survived by his wife, Shelly Chapman; son, Daniel Chapman; daughter, Shannon Chapman; mother, Nolda Chapman; sister, Toni Chapman; and brother, Melvin Chapman. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., both at Palm Mortuary-Downtown, 1325 N. Main St. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Downtown Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
