Martha Jane Michael, 89, of Henderson, passed away June 1, 2011. She was born April 12, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., and was a three-year resident of Nevada. Martha served in the U.S. Navy Waves during World War II and was a mother, homemaker and secretary at Phillips 66 Petroleum Corporation. she was an avid Bridge player and, later in life, a golfer in the Hill Country of Austin, Texas, where she scored her hole-in-one. She also loved camping with her family and later cruises with her husband. She was an active church member in the Methodist Church in Oklahoma and Texas. Martha is survived by her husband, of 57 years, Richard Michael; son, Dr. Paul Michael of Henderson; daughters Mrs. Janice Quinn of Houston, and Mrs. Nancy Glover of Augusta, Ga. Family services will be held Sunday, June 19.
