OBITUARY:

Marjorie Louise Mc Dougall passed peacefully on the afternoon of September 16, 2016, in Murrieta, California. She was born in Muncie, Indiana on September 27, 1929 to Carl Bess and Edna M. Bess. She grew up in Muncie and on November 16,1946 she married Teal William Holbert of Muncie. Teal joined the United States Army and they moved all over the country and was last stationed in Fort Richardson, Anchorage Alaska.

She relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1956, and for many years worked in the hotel industry. For a few interim years she moved to San Pedro, California and attended college and got her LVN , and worked at several hospitals in the area and was very dedicated to her patients and their families.

She loved country western and gospel music! For a time she and her daughter, Angela Holbert-Sugimura performed on stage at the Frontier Hotel and the Golden

Nugget, The “Were Not Sisters” performed with the Tiny Harris Band and Marjorie did beautiful harmony.

Later she returned to Las Vegas and helped open the Treasure Island Hotel and later the Mirage Hotel from which she retired from at 79 years old in 2008. She

then moved to Murrieta, California to her new home.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Kay Holbert (Boyer).

She is survived by her daughters Deborah K. Hassler and Angela K.Sugimura, her granddaughter, Sabrina Louise Holbert and her great grandson, Ashton

William Holbert.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at Palm Mortuary Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern.
