He grew up in Los Angeles, CA, the oldest with 3 sisters (Diane, Odulia and Mary and 2 brothers (Sal & Richard). Shortly after high school he joined the United States Army. He served as an Infantryman Parachutist and Heavy Antiarmor Weapons Infantryman (He referred to himself as a GRUNT...often saying “Don’t call me sir, I worked for a living”).
On July 26, 1974, Mario and Yon were married in Pajuri, S Korea.
He LOVED READING! From Military & Action to Sci Fi and Westerns. Was never without them no matter where he went. He also loved his Sci Fi movies (Star Trek) and Military movies. Enjoyed listening to music (all genres), dancing and singing. Nothing was more important than his family. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts by those you loved him.
Mario is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Yon Mora; children Shawn Mora, and Sandy (Clay) Pugmire, 5 Grandchildren and 4 great grand-doggies.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Sal and Odulia); brother Sal and sister Mary.
A visitation for Mario will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A committal service will occur Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12:40 PM to 1:30 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
