Maria "Marcella" Ynigues

Maria M. “Marcella” Moya-Ynigues, graced this earth on 12/18/1935 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to her late parents Clorinda and Conrad Cordova, Sr. Marcella fell into a peaceful, endless slumber, Friday March 17th 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada after putting up an inspiring but rigorous battle with cancer. She was surrounded in her passing under the loving care of four generations of doting family members and life long friends. Marcella is survived by her most adoring husband of 60 years Juan “Popoose” Ynigues. Her memory will also live in honor by her loving siblings Richard Cordova, Mary Cordova, Reina Cordova, Corrina Alvarez, Mae Cordova, and Cicilia “Chila”Cordova. She was preceded by her brother, Conrad Cordova, Jr. Her legacy lives on with her five incredible children Joann Cordova, Catherine Miller, Nina Jefferson, Suzette Campagna and John Ynigues. Marcella has also blazed the trail for nine admiring grandchildren and seven beautiful great grandchildren. She will be welcomed into heaven with the open arms of our family members that have passed before her.

Marcella was known by many names; Wife, Mother, Nana, and friend. Marcella was a stunning woman who was passionately in love with every single member of her family. She was always a caring and supportive military wife, traveling hand-in-hand with her husband and children as they traversed the globe. Eventually, in 1972, they settled in Las Vegas, Nevada where the tree of our family had taken root and manifested itself into a beautiful symphony of love, happiness and respect. She taught us many things; She showed us that spicy food is the staple to a well rounded meal as well as sore tongues, if you don’t end a meal with a shot of tequila then the meal doesn’t end, she taught us that you can wear high heels with just about anything even pajamas; Marcella taught us that if it can be worn, cooked or crafted that she was the one that could sew it, prepare it and build it, but what she taught us most of all was how to love. No one will ever be able to fill her heels but we will never stop following in her footsteps. Marcella was a force of nature she was the strongest woman we have ever known and on the same side she was the most loving. It is our greatest honor to have been born under the watchful eye of such a woman. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4th at Palm Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146.
