Maria Santos Jones Irigoyen was born on November 1, 1944 to parents Baudelio Irigoyen Leon and Leonor Lopez de Irigoyen in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was affectionately known as “Santos, Santitos, and Titos.”
She had 5 sisters: Ramona Ruiz, Marta Robles, Marina Sarti, Rosa Gonzales, and Teresa Baker. She had 3 daughters: Monica Terry, Julie Johnson and Anita Villasenor. She will join Anita, her parents and sisters in heaven. She married Salvador Villasenor de la Rosa and they were together for 48 years. Her grandchildren are Lydia Jones, Marisa Jones, Richard Johnson III, Sunya Terry Jr., Siera Terry and Sintell Terry. Her great grandchildren are Sean Silva Jr., Olivia Silva, and Sien Terry. She had a very special grand puppy named Chico too. Maria was an amazing Mother, daughter, wife, sister, cousin, special aunt and friend to so many.
She had humble beginnings but somehow managed to have her own beauty shop in Villa Ahumada. She taught herself to cut and style hair. Her clientele was word of mouth in the village. She had many jobs over the years including working at Siesta Motel, Los Alamitos Army Base, and Yamaha.
Maria’s favorite past time was talking on the phone with family and friends on a daily basis. You had to take a number in line to speak with her. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Enchiladas and salsas were her specialties. Anything she prepared was always delicious! She liked to go to family parties with Sal and Anita, always singing along to her favorites Juan Gabriel or Vicente Fernandez songs. When she wasn’t with her family or friends, she liked to go shopping at TJ Maxx. But most of all, Maria enjoyed spending time with Lydia and her children while Sean prepared a culinary surprise. Sean JR and Olivia definitely put a smile on her face. Over the last 6 months, she also enjoyed facetiming with Baby Sien every night after dinner.
She loved to help her family, friends and even perfect strangers. If you needed anything, she always would make every effort to give it to you. Her smile, her voice and giving nature will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in heavenly peace.
