Margaret was born December 4, 1957 in Northumberland, England, to the late Gerald Seamus Aloysius Kearney and Marion Gray Downs McIntosh Kearney. When she was ten years old, the Kearney family immigrated from Scotland to Las Vegas, Nevada. Margaret realized how much she loved children while caring for her younger siblings Celine, Laura and Gerald.
After graduating from Clark High School in 1976, Margaret went to work at Valley Bank. She married Rick Vandenberg in 1977, and their daughter Jill was born in 1980. She was a devoted mother and loved to dress Jill up and take her out to fun places. Margaret became a certified diamontologist and worked at several jewelry stores where she was consistently the top salesperson. She went to real estate school but soon realized her passion was for skin care and became a licensed esthetician. Margaret was married to Kenneth Kiphart from 1986 to 2000. She loved animals, especially her dog Olivia and cat Paulo, and supported the ASPCA. Margaret was proud of her Scottish/Irish heritage and loved to collect china (mainly teapots and teacups), angels, jewelry and rosaries. She was very religious and attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching Saturday Night Live and the Real Housewives of…. Anywhere.
Margaret was a classy lady with a charming sense of humor, someone who wouldn’t leave the house without lipstick, perfume and polished nails. The world will be less bright without her.
A celebration of life for Margaret will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A cremation will occur.
Everyone Welcome
I'm allowed up to half capacity., 80 people.
Please Don't Hesitate to Attend The Service.
DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR MASK!
Remember me with smiles not tears
for all the joy through all the years.
Recall the closeness that was ours,
a love as "sweet" as fragrant flowers.
Don't dwell on thoughts that cause you pain,
Well see each other once again.
I am at peace... try to believe,
It was my time... I had to leave.
But "what a view" I have from here,
I see your face, I feet you near,
I follow you throughout the day,
You're not alone along the way.
And when God calls you... you will be,
Right by my side... right here with me.
Till then, I'll wait by Heaven's door,
We’ll be united… evermore
