In 1981, he was introduced to the first of few loves in his life...music. He was shown three chords on the guitar. A few months later he found the bass guitar; thus began his passion for the instrument. As he grew, his ability and gift for the bass grew.
In the early 80's he was able to get a band going…it was called AMX. He played the club circuits and had fun doing so; he loved playing the bass. During these days he also started a hobby that he seemed born into--working on hot rods. He would spend most evenings either playing the bass guitar or working on cars. Later in the 80’s he was found by a new band…The Gotham City Hookers. Jamie loved the music he played, and loved performing with the friends he made while in this band.
In early 1987, he met the second love of his life, Lisa Auerbach. Jamie and Lisa's relationship got serious and on August 14, 1993 Jamie and Lisa were married and their life together began.
Jamie is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his sons, Johnny and Joey; and his brother, Tommy. He was preceded in death by his parents Janet and George Whitman. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
