Lynn Louis Hutchins, 83, a kind and gentle man, went to our Lord Tuesday, May 10, 2011, after a long battle against the effects of a stroke he suffered a year earlier. He died peacefully with his wife, of 22 years, by his side. Lynn served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., Dec. 8, 1927, he graduated Wayne State University Law School. He moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where he started and ran a successful law firm for 25 years. In 1981, he purchased "The Wild Goose" yacht from John Wayne shortly before John died. The "Goose" was his pride and joy, where he entertained friends and spent many happy times. Eight years later in October 1989, he married his wife, Cynde on board while cruising the Long Beach Harbor. After retiring in 1990, they moved to Las Vegas. Lynn enjoyed old movies, John Wayne, of course, and the classics. World War II movies and documentaries were also a favorite. He looked forward to his trips to visit his brother, Richard (deceased); and his nephews in Bainbridge Island, Wash. High on the travel destinations was Hawaii. Lynn loved the people, all of the islands and the "feel" of the place. He often referred to it as "Paradise." Lynn is greatly missed by those who survive him, his wife, Cynthia; his sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Fran McGrath of Centennial, Colo.; nephews, Ryan McGrath and Sean McGrath of Centennial; nephews, Bill Priest, Kenny Priest and Mark Priest of Bainbridge Island; and finally, Lynn is survived by and missed by 16 cat paws, Peek-a-Boo, Sasha, Misha and Christine Mustafolees. They continue to watch for their "master" and listen for his footsteps they will never again hear. Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Graveside service will follow at Palm Memorial Park - Northwest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Summerlin Lutheran Church, 1911 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128.
