Louis Romero

Our beloved Louis ROMERO, age 83, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away at home with his family at his side on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Louis was born November 6, 1936 in Rodarte, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents Ricardo and Soledea Romero, brothers Tito (Marcella) and Armando and sister in law Mary. He is survived by his wife Naomi Ruth Romero; daughter Shelby; son Robert (Lindy);his cherished granddaughters, Abigail and Lilly; his sisters Cruzita (Taos) and Kate (Colorado) and brothers Raquel (Utah) and Pat (Margie)(California); in-laws, several nieces , nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Louie made friends everywhere he went, he was always joking, and ready with a great comeback. He was a prankster as you who knew him know. Louie loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He loved all sports, was a great athlete and always ready for any competition. He always gave his best to everything he did whether helping a friend or serving at church . He was very generous with his time, talents and resources. Whenever he saw a need he always stepped up. He set a great example for his loved ones. He will be remembered as someone you could count on no matter what. He also enjoyed being a risk taker, gambler, pool shark and tamale maker. He loved being on the go playing at the casinos, riding his 4 wheeler and going to garage sales. But most importantly Louie will be remembered as a devoted family man. To him family was everything. He adored his wife of 57 years , his children and grandchildren and they always knew how much they were loved.

Louie worked as a uranium minor in Grants, New Mexico and at the Nevada Test site until his retirement in 1999. During his work there he was exposed to radiation resulting in several different cancers that ultimately claimed his life.

A Celebration of Life service is planned for a later date when we can all be together. TBA.
