I just saw this for the first time today and I am completely devastated. I saw Dr. Mortillaro for 2 1/2 years after a traumatic brain injury on the job.  He was such an advocate for me. He was always very honest with me about what I would be capable of in the future, etc. He offered that I could come back to him anytime. I am truly sad to read this. 

He stood out....What I remember is his cordial personality...... I just called his office and found out today 9/4/2019. I had sent him a letter and it was forwarded to another address so I called to find out what was going on and was told that he had passed, he was a good man.

I didn't hear about Dr. Mortillaro passing until two days ago. He was a kind man and I enjoyed getting to know him. His encouragment and support were first class. He will be missed. I got such a kick out him sense of humour. We had talks about our dogs, old Vegas, etc. Truly my heart saddened to learn of his passing. Rest in peace old friend.

Dr. Mortillaro represented the best in us not only as psychologists, but as human beings: kindness, warmth, generosity, dedication, devotion, commitment and loyalty. You will be greatly missed, my dearest colleague and good friend! Till we meet again, in our Heavenly Home, Rest In Peace. My deepest sympathy to his family.

The one and only Dr. Love.  A genuinely nice person who made a difference in so many lives.  We will always think of you when we here the word Love!  May your fears be calmed and your soul at peace.

Louis Mortillaro was my favorite expert.  I met him as I cross examined him in a death penalty murder trial in 1995.  He was so fair and honest, I made him my States expert in my nest murder case and he testified many times as my expert.  Then , as a judge, I had the pleasure of watching him testify in many civil cases for both sides.  Louis was a gentleman and genuine good person.  Everybody loved him and he will be missed by all.  

I first started going to him for pain management from a car accident. When I met him he had a big smile on his face and shared story’s about his theater days in collage. When I was having a hard time he would tell me to just breath he  showed me what a good inhale and exhale looked like. He will be missed. My prayers go out to his wife, family and friends. 

Dr Mortillaro has been helping me to deal with Work Comp insurance abuse and neglect since 2013. He has been my "rock" through all of this, and has kept me strong. His nickname for me is LMG-he often spoke of what a strong woman I am and an excellent RN, as he informed me that he did research on me to see what kind of Nurse I was. I will never, ever forget the kind spirit of Dr Mortillaro and I believe his words will comfort me in the years to come. Thank you to Dr Mortillaro and especially  for being such a Model of Dignity, Ethics and Strength. 

Louis was fun guy with a quick sense of humor. At the Sporting house we all arrived in the early morning. He liked the ladies/ and the ladies lov3ed Lous. He always had a moment when you needed a friend listen and advise

My sympathy and condolences to Louie's family on his death. Louie and I were boyhood friends and our mothers and fathers were the very best of friends throughout their lives. Louie and I remained close throughout our lives too! He will be immensely missed; may he rest in peace.

I met Louie when he first joined the faculty at Nova Southeastern University in Las Vegas. We became fast friends and spent many a weekend lunch with Louie, Steve Rudish, Marlene Diaz, and other faculty and staff. Louie was a favorite of students as well as faculty. The world has lost lost a shining star. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Sadly, I just saw the notice of Louie's passing this Sunday.  I worked rather closely with Louis at SIIS for many years, and considered him a very professional, astute and friendly associate.  We shared many conversations, and always liked going to lunch at the Aristocrat.  After I left SIIS, in 2001, I lost touch with those I worked with, unfortunately.  Reading Louie's notice brings back many many good memories.  My recollections of Louis are, really, at the top of my list.  Sincere condolences to family and loved ones.

Louis was an amazing human being, a great clinician, and dear friend. He helped me with my pain patients over the past 20 years. I am so saddened by his passing and I will miss him terribly. The mental health community has lost one of the best.  RIP LOUIE ❤️❤️

Louie, I just became aware while visiting here in Canada of what is your untimely and certainly all too early passing.  Unexpected and a loss for those of us who have been a friend and colleague here with you in Las Vegas; now going on some 50 years from your SIIS days to the niche, reputation and prominence you've carved out as a private practitioner.
Louie has supported the profession of psychology.  He has been a competent, respected clinician and forensic examiner, a model and/or mentor, a talented collaborator for his fellow psychologists.  
Louie, you will be sorely missed Old Buddy; RIP!  You've lived a rewarding life and I know you will be remembered with warmth and a sense of affection by all of us.  Marv A. Glovinsky, Ph.D.

You were the only person that understood me an you were only person who would tell me how it is.. I NEVER had no dad growing up NEVER  thought I could open up to a man but you were only person I trusted with my mental issues. I lost a really good friend/mentor and a person who always had the answers. May God rest your soul I will never forget you. 

Louie represented the profession of psychology in Nevada with passion and enthusiasm.  In a state with barely 500 psychologists, Louie is truly one of NV psychology's fathers.  He had a  significant hand in creating the foundation for the profession in Nevada.  We stand on his shoulders. Personally, I could count on him to be my biggest professional cheerleader.  Thank you, Louie for always having my back and being a role model.

Louie will be greatly missed in the psychology community. I am a better psychologist from knowing and working along side him in advocacy. RIP Louie.

Dr. Mortillaro was a great psychologist, expert and person.  I used him for the first time when I started my own law firm in 2005, and have used him periodically over the years.  All my clients said how much he cared, and how thoughtful and understanding he was.  He will be greatly missed.  My sympathy goes to his family.

Great friend, talented professional, and a ball to travel with.  I will miss him, as will all who knew him.
