LEO NOLAN, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away April 30, 2012. He was born Jan. 6, 1928 in Washington, DC. He spent four years with the Christian Brother order and later attended St. Mary's University in Winona. He joined the Boy Scouts of America professionally in 1960 in Chicago, and was transferred to Las Vegas in 1966 where he was a 46-year resident. While with the Boy Scouts, he was involved in the development of Camp Bonanza and Camp Del Webb, and later worked with Centel and Stewart Electric. A devout Catholic, his main priority was Catholic education and was an active supporter of St. Anne's, Our Lady of Las Vegas and Bishop Gorman. Leo will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends that he considered family. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mary Nolan; former wife, Dorothy Nolan; son, John J. Nolan; sister, Mary and Dick Culbertson; sister, Josephine and Robert Blakeslee; sister, Frances and Jerry Byrd; sister, Ann Wolney; and brother, Jack and Joan Nolan. He is survived by his children, Mike and Sharon Nolan; Javier and Mary (Nolan) Ojeda; Mark and Therese (Nolan) Wingert; Tom and Nicole Nolan; and James Nolan; grandchildren, Joseph and Mika Adams, John and Meghan Adams, David and Angi Nolan, Christopher and Christine Nolan, AJ Frabbiele, Brock Frabbiele, Colin Frabbiele, Daniel Ojeda; Emily Ojeda; and Hannah, Anne and Sarah Wingert; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Vigil will be 4-7 p.m., Monday, May 7, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89129. Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, at Our Lady of Las Vegas, 3050 Alta Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89107.
