It is with great sadness that the family of Lenard Parks announce his passing on March 1, 2023, at the age of 86. Lenard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemary, four children: sons James, Reggie (Shelly) Wayne (Adrienne), daughter Kim and sister Sherideth Dennis (Roy). He also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Lenard was born in Lincoln, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Limuel and Elizabeth Parks and siblings; Willard (Lula), Terry, Ronnie and Benita.
Lenard was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He enlisted in the military in 1954. He was stationed overseas in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1977. After retiring from the military, Lenard worked for General Motors in Kansas City, Missouri. When Lenard retired from General Motors in 1991, he and his wife Rosemary moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lenard loved to read and listen to music, especially the blues. He was able to watch his favorite NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs, win the Super Bowl one last time. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR. He attended a few races at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
A private military ceremony will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
