Larry R Chaney

Larry R. Chaney was born in Royal Oak, MI to Herman & Viola Chaney on July 24, 1936. He went to school at Hazel Park High School and graduated in 1955, where he received All State Honors in both Basketball and Football. He married Roberta Chaney on October 1, 1960 in Hazel Park, MI. He worked for and retired from the Hazel Park School District. While working for the school district he also coached both football and basketball at Webb Junior High School. He was involved with the Hazel Park Fraternal Order of the Eagles and played on and coached many softball teams to state championships.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Herman & Viola Chaney, six brothers Eugene Chaney, Earl Chaney, Norman Chaney, Arthur Chaney, Robert Chaney, Terry Chaney, two son’s Martin Wood, Jerry Chaney, and two grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife Roberta Chaney, five children; Charles Wood, Rhonda Esler, Tammy Brace, Larry Chaney, Gary Chaney, his sister Linda Hewins, 19 Grandchildren, and 16 Great Grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in Michigan this summer, the date is to be determined.
