Our first born son was born here in Las Vegas On April 29, 1998 at 6:52pm, he was a big boy at 9lbs, 7oz and 22 inches long. Kevin Jr. was a good baby and followed him as a kid. He learned how to ride a two-wheel bike at 2yrs old, he was a pro at his power wheels. He started playing basketball for the Rec. Center in elementary followed by Football & Basketball in middle school. Kevin Jr. tore his ACL in 7th grade but still remained hopeful. He attended Legacy High School where he continued his passion for Football, his sophomore year he was asked to play Varsity Football, from there on out till his Senior year. Although he injured his hand that year he never gave up.
Kevin Jr., went on to start is career in construction, he started working for CTS in October 2016, he started working in the Lab and eventually he made his way out to the field as an apprentice while continuing his college career to be a certified tester. He worked on many projects such as Allegiant Stadium, Circa, and the Sphere.
Kevin Jr., loved cars and trucks. He owned three trucks, a 1989 Nissan Hardbody, 1978 Toyota Hilux and a 2009 Toyota Tundra that he recently purchased.
During his spare time Kevin Jr. re-built his Toyota Hilux with his boys. He put his hard earned money towards all of his vehicles. He was a handy man that wasn’t afraid to take anything apart and put it back together.
Kevin Jr., loved his snacks, his favorite was gummy bears or fruit snacks. He liked to eat cookies & milk as we teased him calling him the cookie monster. He tried any food at least once and wasn’t a picky eater. He loved his Nana’s ponipopo coconut bread and his Grandmas Fatada, his Papas kelaguen and he loved to hang out with his Tata and share stories together. He liked to BBQ and hangout with his family.
Kevin Jr., was kind gentle soul. He touched so many people in a positive way. He was a great big brother to Christevin and Isa. He loved them so much, all he wanted for them is to do their best and never give up. Often he took Isa to get Tropical Smoothie or ice cream just to see the big smile on her face. During quarantine he started hanging out more with Christian and their Uncle Joey, they would work out or spend time working on their car/truck together. They would often take pictures of their vehicles and just cruise to different views of the city. Kevin Jr. loved his music and boy did he have a variety!!! Island Reggae, Rap (old and new), EDM, slow jams and one to make everyone laugh Katy Perry’s Fireworks song.
Kevin Jr. was a great guy he checked up on his family and friends unexpectedly made sure they were all doing well, if they needed anything, he was just a phone call or text away. Kevin Jr was just a gentle giant who gave the best big hugs and kisses on the forehead. My son was a gentleman, always opening doors for his girlfriend to get out of the vehicle. Her parents were amazed by his respect, they said what 22-year-old gets out of the car and says wait I’ll get your door. His chivalry was out of this world.
There are too many great memories to list, I will forever play them in my head and I will hold in my heart.
Our son was taught to always do the right thing, have respect, be humble and have faith that Our Lord hears us.
Our Lord had bigger plans for Kevin Jr.; we know just how good Kevin Jr. was here on earth, he is now doing amazing things up in heaven. We love you forever Kevin Jr., Rest in Paradise give a big hug to Sonya for all of us. Meet you at Guava Lane my boy.
