She was born on March 3, 1943 in the Bronx, NY to Sylvia (nee Rehfeld) and Nathan Schampe. Karen attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She married Marvin Levine in 1963, and she began raising her two sons in Thornwood, NY. They moved to Las Vegas in 1995. She dedicated her life to Jewish causes and was an administrative assistant for Congregation Ner Tamid of Henderson, NV and founding member of Shir Shirat Synagogue of Las Vegas. Karen always gave back to southern Nevada by helping those in need. She leaves a legacy of love to her children and grandchildren, as well as to all those she impacted. Karen will always be remembered for her bright smile, hilarious humor, and her big caring heart. She was a fighter, overcoming many obstacles and difficulties, while still bringing joy and happiness to all she touched. Karen is predeceased by her parents and Marvin, her beloved husband of 49 years. She is survived by son, Steven (Sandee) and four grandchildren, Madison, Dawson, Amanda, and Brett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Foundation. Graveside service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
