Julia M. Howard, 87, a homemaker, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 17, 2015. She was born May 3, 1927, in Cranston, R.I., to Alfred and Grace Nicini. In 1958, Julia and Wayne moved their young family to Sunnyvale, Calif, Julia began working for Fairchild Semiconductor, and remained there until her retirement. She also lived in San Jose for 22 years. In 1992, they permanently retired to Las Vegas. Julia enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, going to shows and bowling. She was the matriarch of five generations. Julia was preceded in death by her father, Alfred; mother, Grace; step-mother, Mary; sister, Grace; and grandson, Anthony Campagna IV. Julia is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne; daughter, Sharon and son-in-law, Ed Stockle of Las Vegas; granddaughters, Staci Johnston of Las Vegas and Darla Rutkowski of Colorado; and grandson, Ted Witt of California; great-granddaughters, Kaylin Slabaugh, Jessica Slabaugh, Taylor Slabaugh, Venice Johnston, Harley Johnston, all of Las Vegas, and Morgan and Peyton Rutkowski of Colorado; great-grandsons, Teddy and Michael Witt of California, and Joe Rutkowski of Colorado; great-great-granddaughters, Madyson McDonald and Rylynn Slabaugh; brothers, Mondo Nicini and Anthony Nicini; sister, Mary Vacca and Sarah Demaio; and the cats, Spice, Bob and Louie. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89129. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Roman Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89117. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.
