JUAN TRINIDAD TECSON, JR., 89, of Las Vegas, NV., was given a heavenly gift. He was called, raised up on angel's wings and went to be with our Lord on his birthday, May 28, 2023 and passed away at Aloha Paradise Care Home in Las Vegas.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on June 13, 2023 at Palm Eastern 7600 South Eastern Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89123 with Father Dave Casaleggio officiating. A reception will follow from 12-2 PM, also at Palm Eastern. 10:00 AM Funeral Mass, Burial and Celebration of Life will follow on Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 1835 Larkvane Rd., Rowland Heights, CA and Queen of Heaven Cemetery at 2161 Fullerton Rd., Rowland Heights, CA.
Juan T. Tecson was born in Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines to Juan Tecson, Sr. and Angelina Trinidad Tecson on May 28, 1934. He went to school in Manila, and joined ROTC while attending University of the Philippines, and then Mapua Institute of Technology, where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. Juan, nicknamed Jun, married the love of his life, Norma Cruz Tecson on January 7, 1961 in Manila, PI. Jun and Norma had four children together whom he loved greatly and was affectionately called Uncle Joe by his nieces and nephews who considered him their favorite uncle. He immigrated and became a U.S. Citizen, raising his family in Southern California, before moving and retiring in Las Vegas, Nevada. Juan, also nicknamed Johnny, worked as a Civil Engineer for Manila City Hall and as a Building Inspector for the City of Long Beach, CA until his retirement. He was involved in Lions Club - Manila Branch, and as a devout Catholic, served for his parish as an usher. "Brother Joe" was fun-loving, easy-going, hard-working, wise, kind and generous to family and friends. He was a loyal man of God, who shared his faith by praying for others and telling his loved ones to “Always Pray. God Bless Us All.”
Juan T. Tecson is preceded in death by his grandmother, Julianna Resurrecion Trinidad, parents, Juan Tecson, Sr. and Angelina Trinidad Tecson, Ruben Tecson(Brother) and Evelyn T. Gonzalez(Sister), and his eldest sons, Stewart Tecson and Wilfredo Tecson.
Juan, also lovingly called Daddy Jun, Papa and Lolo, leaves behind a strong Tecson Legacy and is survived by his devoted wife Norma Cruz Tecson, loving son Paul C. Tecson, adoring daughter and son in-law, Mary Jocelyn Tecson Roberts and James A. Roberts, caring daughter in-law, Marlene D. Tecson(widowed) & step-grandkids Robert & Christina, beloved grandchildren, Nicole Marie & Brett, Dominick Julian & Margaret, Justine Gabrielle & Alex, Bryce Stewart, Ethan Alexander, Noah Kaimana, Lucas Ikaika, Bishop James Keala’iakapono, and blessed great-grandchildren, Teresa Darling, Zachary Noah, Stevie Hali’a and another on the way, as well as Tito Jun’s Godchildren, nephews and nieces, who remember him fondly. Friends and Family will have many memories of this Happy-Go-Lucky husband, father, brother, family man and friend.
