JOYCE NIELSEN Joyce I. Nielsen, 70, of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 5, 2012, due to complications from Crohns Disease. She was born Dec. 29, 1941, in the Bronx, N.Y., and became a Las Vegas resident in 1981. She was an enrolled agent and accountant with a practice covering business management and tax consulting in California and Nevada serving a multitude of clients, many of whom were in the entertainment industry. Joyce was known by her clients as everyone's "Jewish mother." It was she to whom they turned to, not just for advice on finances but also for advice as their family and friend. Joyce's passing is a great loss to her devoted and loving husband, of 33 years, J. Bruce Nielsen. She is also survived by her mother, Julia Cohen of the Bronx; daughter, Lisa Nielsen of New York City; and sisters, Hedda Hurvich of Tarrytown, N.Y. and Ann Brandwein of New Rochelle, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at King David Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the King David Memorial Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
