Joyce Woodmansee Gallacher

Joyce Woodmansee Gallacher, 69, of Las Vegas, passed away May 28, 2010. She was a longtime waitress, most recently working in the Clark County School District in the lunchroom at several local schools over the last few years. Joyce loved people and loved to share her stories. Her smile and quirky humor filled any room. Born Oct. 23, 1940, she grew up in Salt Lake City, and moved to Las Vegas as a young woman. She was married to her husband, Hal Gallacher, in 1961, in Las Vegas, where they raised their sons. She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband, Hal. Joyce is survived by her sons, Hal, Kelly and Dan; along with her grandchildren, Jen, Adam, Justin, Katie and Eric; brothers, Albert and Duane Woodmansee; and sisters, Shirley Nielson and Jeannette Snow of Utah. She was also surrounded by loved ones who called her "Mom" and "Grandma" in endearment. Joyce will be greatly missed by her large family and many friends. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, at the LDS Chapel, 5800 Carl St. Burial will follow at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City.
