Joseph Garcia of Las Vegas, passed away on January 18th, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Joe was born on August 19th, 1950, to Joseph & Rose Garcia in St. Louis, MO. After Joe graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1968, he went on to study and receive a bachelor’s degree in political science at Webster University.
In 1978, Joe moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he had a Real Estate career for 48 years. He owned Southwest Real Estate along with his wife, Sandy.
In 1988, Joe met Sandy and were married in 1990. He always said Sandy was the love of his life.
Joe was very active in his community and served o the HOA board for Rhodes Ranch. He was a big brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. He loved car shows, auctions, Jeopardy, traveling, concerts, music, theatre, the beach, good food, and making people laugh. Joe overall was just a kind man with a giving heart who loved his family and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his Father Joseph and Mother Rose. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Sandy Garcia, of 34 years, his daughter, Shelley Whitmarsh Beal, and her husband, Joe. His son, Jeffrey Clark, and his wife, Nicole. His sister, Barbara Thorn, and her husband, Michael. Joe’s 5 grandchildren (Bella, Jake, Navie, Victoria, and Taylor), 2 nieces (Amanda and Holly), 1 nephew (Nick), and 8 great nieces and nephews.
Organ Donation was important to Joe, and he was able to donate his corneas to someone give someone the gift of sight. https://www.organdonor.gov/
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent attribute to Joe via Prevent Cancer Research https://www.preventcancer.org/
